My Plan to Provide Americans with Affordable Housing

Currently, the cost of materials for a 2,000 square-foot home is about $50 per square foot. Labor costs for the same home range between $100,000 and $200,000. As president, I would implement the following program to make housing more affordable:

1. **Community Building Program**: We will initiate a program where groups of people work together to build their homes. This collaborative approach will significantly reduce labor costs.

2. **Regular Inspections**: To ensure quality and safety, we will implement regular inspections by certified inspectors. Each phase of construction will be inspected before moving to the next, guaranteeing that everything is done correctly.

3. **Equitable Contribution and Security**: To ensure fairness, each participant in the group can place a lien on the home they help build. Once a member’s house is completed, they will remove their lien from the property.
We were write legislation that this lien cannot be lifted through tax foreclosure or bankruptcy. This well ensure that helpers are compensated for their contributions.

This program aims to foster community cooperation, ensure quality construction, and make homeownership more accessible and affordable for all Americans.
